COLCHESTER 24: WHAT NEXT?

Colchester 24 was a huge success. To date almost 5,000 images have been received and they are still coming in. Thank you all for your participation. The images are now being collated into one database, complete with details of photographer, location and title – a long job.

A Public Exhibition

All images will be eligible for selection for an Exhibition. A team of experienced photographers, led by Vic Hainsworth ARPS, President of the Colchester Photographic Society, will select up to 300 for exhibition. A second team will ensure that a wide range of Colchester life is included in the 300. To choose 300 from 5,000 will be a time consuming process, likely to be completed in December.

The selected images will be printed and mounted during the early months of next year and all 300 will be exhibited at a number of venues in March/April. Details are still being finalised. You will all be invited to the opening and this website will provide details as soon as they are known.

On the Internet

The 300 images will be shown as a separate display on this website as soon as they have been selected. We also intend to make as many other images as possible available to view. In the long term, all images will be stored on computer hard drive, indexed and made accessible for viewing by the general public.
